    Sunny skies and a high of 66°F, with a gentle NE breeze at 8 mph—perfect for pretending you’re being productive outdoors. Heads up though: if you’re planning a sunset stroll or late dinner, maybe grab a jacket. Night temps are dipping to 55°F, and shivering in flip-flops is a tough look.

    It’s giving “meh” most of the day—poor to fair conditions. If you’re chasing a wave, aim for mid-afternoon (2–3 PM), where you might catch a thigh-to-waist high set if you squint hard enough.

    Saturday’s vibes: a truck ended up in the canal west of the bridge to Manteo, backing up traffic and probably ruining one very expensive weekend. Details still rolling in.

  • 🔥 Truck Fire at Currituck Shell Station
    There was a truck fire Sunday at the Shell station on the mainland. That’s about all we know for now, but if your commute smelled extra crispy—now you know why.

  • 👀 Suspicious... or Just Sad?
    Duck PD responded to a report of a homeless camp...only to find an overturned table and what looked like an abandoned kid’s fort. No trespassers, no campers—just some long-forgotten furniture and crushed dreams.

  • 🚗 Sunset Snoozer
    Duck officers found a suspicious vehicle in a gravel lot, only to discover the driver had fallen asleep watching the sunset. Zero charges filed, but full respect for living the OBX dream.

  • 👮 Maryland Man + Cocaine = Trouble
    Yuri Soussov, 36, of Gaithersburg, MD, was arrested near Bodie Island Lighthouse after deputies found cocaine during a DWI stop. (Yeah, we’re putting him on blast because if you roll into the OBX acting like that, you get seagull-shamed, Yuri!) Yuri is now facing felony possession charges and a $7,000 secured bond. Moral of the story: OBX sunsets are magical. Cocaine is not.

🏠Word on the dunes is… a Corolla real estate agent showed a house yesterday, and the buyers picked it because 'it had the best hammock.' Big decisions only.

🏍️At Bike Week, someone allegedly tried to do a burnout in the parking lot... and forgot they left their cooler strapped to the back of their bike. Warm beer, crushed pride, and a parking lot full of applause.

🏄Also: Someone tried surfing a cooler lid in Kill Devil Hills. Lasted three seconds. 10/10 for effort, 0/10 for balance.
